Paleo Diet

I was recommended to a Chinese Medicine practitioner for a few little health issues I have been dealing with, nothing too serious – PCOS and imbalanced hormones.. Going to see her fortnightly was amazing, it was a perfect time to settle in for some forced mediation as she would set me up with acupuncture needles.. She would always place one right between my eyebrows to calm me down.. She would sit me there for about 15 – 30 minutes of bliss..

I highly recommend her for any health or relaxation needs… She is located in the acland street mall.

Her recommendation to me was to starve my body sugar & yeast and the best way to do this is to go on a modified Paleo Diet… Now for most who don’t know what the paleo diet is – simplest way to explain – cave man diet – meat, vegies ect. For a much better explanation follow the link below…

It took about a week to settle in to no sugar (not even fruit) you cheat with a chocolate bar, I cheat with a prune.. It was this serious.. My diet was now consisting of brocoli soup for breakfast, four bean mix for morning tea, frittata for lunch, raw nuts for afternoon tea and some more soup if I got hungry, then meat and vegies for dinner – but not the good vegies like potato and sweet potato – vegies like spinach and Bok choy.. I have now been doing this for about 4 – 6 weeks now and she will soon be introducing some “naughty” foods back into my diet – however I never thought I would say this.. But i freakin love vegetables.. Now I have gone so strict with what I am putting in my body, I don’t know if and how I would go back to any other way.. It’s so yummy and it makes you feel so amazing! You could always spice it up a lot more than what I do, there are so many amazing recipes for it online..

I have one day a week which I can allow myself a bad meal, or a little cheat.. But I always feel horrible for it afterwards, not guilty but actually ill… You can really tell the difference when you cut processed foods out of your diet and then attempt to eat them.. Your body totally rejects them.. Whenever my body is craving something sweet or a treat, I substitute it for a cup of tea.

There are now no excuses to say that going off the pill & quitting smoking will make you quit smoking, because I am living proof that with a little bit of discipline, you can actually lose weight.

The reason I wanted to fill you all in on this diet, it because of the amazing weight loss results I have achieved in the 6 weeks since starting this diet and staying routine with going to the gym 4 – 5 days a week…
